Analysis Of Media Prelim Task (Updated)
Analysis of Media Prelimanary
ANALYSIS OF MEDIA PRODUCTION
What I am going to analysis are the Mise en-scene, sound, editing, camerawork and the audience. The setting was at school this was because we didn't have enough time to go outside of school and film it because we only had an hour and the actors used were people that had no lesson at the time and were easy to find.
The Mise en-scene used in the screen shots are the lockers this sets the scene and tells the viewer that it is located in a school. The title shows what it is about and also indicates what is going to happen in the film. The sound just starts here, it is a very calm piece of music and its contracts with the story line. The editing was very simple for the start we just had to editing the title in and to also add the the affect we put of a grainy feel to it.
This makes it look like a CCTV this adds to the affect of someone looking around. It makes the viewer feel like you are watching someone without them knowing, also it tells the viewer that the school is abbanndoned and that also adds to the affect. The mise en-scene of this such as the props used are non, but the boards around the school also gives the viewer the idea of the setting. The sound which is being used is the same all the way through. The editing we used to create an affect was the CCTV camera.
In this screenshot I have picked out the tracking shot this is because I think it is the most affect shot used. The reason I think this shot is affect is because it is interactive with the viewer what I mean by this is the viewer feels like he is the person getting chased (Harry). The only mise en scene in this shot is the door. At this point someone is signing in the backing round but it is very mellow and saddening.
This is what is called a point of view shot. This shot is also affective because it gets the audience involved. The Mise en-scene in this would be the bin this is also affective because it sets the scene and makes it seem more realistic. The sound decreases in volume because there will be dialogue. The editing is also quick editing at this stage to add excitement because he is running away for the mental people in the hospital.
This is an over the shoulder shot this is also affective for the same reason as the two screen shots above because it makes the viewer feel like they are part of the mess that these to have got themselves into and it will engage the audience. The same mise-en scene is used in this screen as the above
